The apartment, characterized by its Pombaline style, boasted distinctive features such as a beautiful stucco ceiling in the living room and a Pombaline gaiola structure, both of which were retained during the renovation. While some areas underwent complete reformulation, others received interventions primarily in carpentry design to optimize usability.
Innovative Solutions for Multifunctional Spaces
In addressing the challenge of accommodating multiple functions within limited space, innovative solutions were devised. For one of the children’s bedrooms, a wooden box with a lowered ceiling was created to serve as a bed, guest bed, bedside table, desk, and bookcase. This versatile design maximized functionality while maintaining a cozy atmosphere.
Shared Workspace for Daughters
In the daughters’ bedroom, a shared workspace was conceived to foster productivity and collaboration. A single worktop with drawers provided individual study areas, while a structure of shelves and wooden props encouraged communication between them. To seamlessly integrate this workspace into the room, a mirror was strategically added to the side wall.
