mode:lina™ architects unveil their latest creation, FoodX Poznan Restaurant, a vibrant amalgamation of street art and iconic 90s visuals. Nestled in downtown Poznań, this culinary hotspot is the brainchild of the innovative FoodX team, known for their daring culinary concepts and bold creativity.

Embracing Bold Ideas: A Collaborative Endeavor

Paweł Garus, co-founder of mode:lina™ studio, expresses admiration for clients like FoodX, who approach projects with audacious ideas and an open mindset. With FoodX’s cuisine described as “real Street Art on a plate,” the architects were inspired to infuse the restaurant with an equally bold aesthetic.

Conceptual Brilliance: A Trip Down Memory Lane

Charged with infusing FoodX’s branding and previous successes into the Poznań project, the architects drew inspiration from the colorful menu offerings of FoodX’s constituent brands: Mr. Pancake Poznań, PIZZA BOYZ, Ghost Burger, and Vegan Pizza Club. The result is a vibrant homage to the 80s and 90s, reminiscent of the colorful pop culture era.

Colorful Immersion: Pastel Gradients and Neon Hues

The interior palette showcases a gradient of pastel colors adorning walls and furniture, evoking nostalgia for the vibrant hues of the 90s. Chameleon-type foil on external windows beckons passersby into this kaleidoscopic space, inviting them to immerse themselves in a whimsical journey through time.

Retro Elements: Glass Bricks and Street Mirrors

Drawing from the aesthetics of yesteryears, the architects incorporate popular 90s elements like glass bricks, adorning the bar and select walls. Street mirrors, strategically positioned on walls and ceilings, enhance the ambiance through multiplication, creating a mesmerizing visual effect.

GGJH presents Flink, a bakery café brand situated in Pangyo, a bustling hub of IT companies and bustling activity throughout the week. The design ethos of this project revolves around the seamless integration of continuous rectangular patterns, organized through modular formation. Employing a repetitive design language within modularity, the space undergoes texture variations due to diverse material finishes, all beneath a soaring ceiling adorned with stainless steel panels.

Strategic Zoning: Elevating Bakery Display

With meticulous attention to detail, the project prioritizes the prominent display of bakery items. A strategic zoning plan ensures that the bakery display captures the customer’s initial attention. Glass bricks and frosted clear acrylic elements strategically conceal unnecessary elements from sight, directing focus towards the bakery offerings. Versatile display tables and shelves, designed in a modular fashion, cater to the dynamic needs of changing bakery menus, facilitating seamless adjustments as required.

Softened Illumination: Mood-Enhancing Lighting

Leveraging the light-diffusing characteristics of materials, the design endeavors to soften illumination, creating varied moods based on the backdrop material. The interplay of light and texture manifests in contrasting silhouettes on the baking room wall, crafted with clear glass brick. This juxtaposition, alongside diffusing lights and frosted acrylic, delineates winding silhouettes, contributing to a dynamic spatial experience while effectively delineating movement paths.

dongqi Design adeptly captures the essence of Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) through architectural design in the ELC pavilion II at the China International Import Expo (CIIE). The pavilion, resembling a cube from the outside, unfolds into distinct areas inside, showcasing ELC’s corporate culture and its 19 brands. The layout, derived from a grid system, exudes dynamism with rounded corners, meticulously tailored to accommodate the unique requirements of each brand and ensure a captivating experience for visitors.

Dynamic Spatial Design: A Play of Light and Form

Central to the pavilion’s spatial form is the partition system, seamlessly integrating translucent acrylic and transparent elements. Vertically segmented, the acrylic fins, arranged in a gradient of angles, create an ever-changing interplay of light and shadow. Visitors journey through the pavilion, experiencing shifting atmospheres akin to traversing a crystal garden or a serene forest. The collaboration between architects and steel structure engineers ensures structural integrity while maintaining visual coherence, with steel columns mirroring the shape and size of acrylic fins and coated with a mirror finish for an ethereal aesthetic.

Brand Integration: Customized Displays and Lighting

The design language extends to each brand area, with display fixtures meticulously crafted to reflect the tonality of individual brands. Material selection, such as black mirror-finished stainless steel, echoes the temperament of specific brands, fostering a cohesive narrative. The transparent and translucent acrylic elements epitomize beauty, symbolizing inclusivity and purity, aligning seamlessly with the theme of ELC CIIE II: Made of Prestige.

Nenmar, a London-based architecture and interior design studio, proudly presents the interiors of Emilia Wickstead’s new flagship store. Situated at 152-153 Sloane Street in the heart of Knightsbridge, this 370sq m boutique epitomizes sophistication in one of London’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Tasked with translating Emilia Wickstead’s timeless and elegant style into a refined interior space, Nenmar drew inspiration from Italian rationalism and architectural masterpieces of the 1920-1940s.

A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

Emilia Wickstead’s brand ethos, rooted in a love for traditional yet contemporary style and meticulous attention to detail, served as the guiding principle for the boutique’s design. Collaborating closely with the fashion designer, Nenmar endeavored to create a space of understated elegance that resonated with the brand’s values. By marrying Italian rationalism with modern sensibilities, the studio crafted a boutique that offers a memorable customer experience and a journey of discovery through its distinct areas.

Rational Design for Timeless Beauty

Gianluca Nencini, Head of Architecture at Nenmar, articulated the studio’s vision for the flagship store, emphasizing the application of mathematics to aesthetics and the repetition of geometric shapes and symmetry. Drawing inspiration from Andrea Palladio’s architectural principles, the space is characterized by a succession of rooms delineated by Rosa Alicante marble portals, creating a seamless flow from one area to another.

Elegance in Every Detail

The boutique’s interior exudes refinement, with a consistent palette of precious materials meticulously curated to enhance the brand’s aesthetic. From chequerboard flooring made of Rosa Alicante and White Carrara marble to bespoke polished stainless steel hanging rails and display units, every element exudes luxury and sophistication. A dedicated bridal area, accessed via mahogany pivot doors and adorned with fabric drapery, adds a personalized touch to the space.

Elevating the Customer Experience

To complement the retail experience, a new bar area was introduced, featuring a stunning Rosa Alicante marble counter and bespoke stainless steel display cabinet. Downstairs, Rosa Alicante marble shelves showcase the brand’s selection of homeware, further enriching the customer journey. Ironmongery, joinery, and fixed furniture, all meticulously designed by Nenmar, complete the boutique’s elegant ambiance.

In essence, Emilia Wickstead’s flagship store is not merely a retail space but a celebration of timeless sophistication and impeccable craftsmanship, offering discerning clientele an unparalleled shopping experience.
